Dit Cookiebeleid legt uit hoe Quocia AI Private Limited (handelend onder de naam "Quocia", "wij", "ons" of "onze") cookies en vergelijkbare technologieën gebruikt op onze website op www.quocia.com, onze applicatie op app.quocia.com, en gerelateerde producten en diensten (gezamenlijk de "Diensten").

Het is een aanvulling op ons Privacybeleid, dat uitlegt hoe wij in het algemeen omgaan met persoonsgegevens, en onze Servicevoorwaarden.

1. Wat zijn cookies?

Cookies zijn kleine tekstbestanden die op uw apparaat worden geplaatst wanneer u een website bezoekt. Ze worden op grote schaal gebruikt om websites te laten werken, om ze efficiënter te laten werken en om informatie te verstrekken aan de eigenaren van de website.

Cookies die worden geplaatst door de site die u bezoekt (in dit geval Quocia) worden first-party cookies genoemd. Cookies die door andere domeinen worden geplaatst — bijvoorbeeld een analyse- of video-embed-dienst — worden third-party cookies genoemd. Beide typen kunnen voor een gedefinieerde duur bewaard blijven ("permanente cookies") of slechts totdat u uw browser sluit ("sessiecookies").

Dit beleid gebruikt het woord "cookies" in brede zin om vergelijkbare technologieën te omvatten, waaronder local storage, session storage, web beacons en tracking pixels.

2. Waarom we cookies gebruiken

Wij gebruiken cookies om:

De Diensten veilig te houden en frauduleuze activiteiten te voorkomen;
U aangemeld te houden en uw accountinstellingen te onthouden;
Voorkeuren zoals uw taal en land te onthouden;
Uw keuzes voor cookietoestemming te onthouden, zodat we er niet onnodig opnieuw naar hoeven te vragen;
Waar u toestemming heeft gegeven, te meten hoe de Diensten worden gebruikt, zodat we deze kunnen verbeteren.

3. Categorieën cookies die we gebruiken

3.1 Strikt noodzakelijke cookies

Deze cookies zijn vereist om de Diensten te laten werken en kunnen niet worden uitgeschakeld. Ze worden meestal ingesteld als reactie op acties die u onderneemt, zoals aanmelden, het instellen van taalvoorkeuren of het invullen van formulieren. De Diensten kunnen zonder deze cookies niet goed functioneren.

lang (first-party, permanent — tot 1 jaar): Slaat uw voorkeurstaal voor weergave op, zodat we u de website en de applicatie in dezelfde taal kunnen tonen. Ingesteld op het domein .quocia.com zodat het over de hele website en in de app werkt.
quocia_consent (first-party, permanent — tot 1 jaar): Registreert uw keuzes in onze cookietoestemmingsbanner, zodat we het u niet opnieuw hoeven te vragen.
Authenticatiecookies (first-party, sessie en kortlopend permanent): Houden u aangemeld bij uw account en beschermen tegen session hijacking. Deze worden ingesteld door onze authenticatie- en hostingproviders (Firebase Authentication, Firebase Hosting) en kunnen kortlopende sessietokens bevatten. Ze verlopen wanneer u zich afmeldt of na een periode van inactiviteit.
Beveiligings- en load-balancing-cookies (first-party, sessie): Ingesteld door Firebase Hosting en Google Cloud om verzoeken te routeren, de Diensten beschikbaar te houden en te beschermen tegen denial-of-service-aanvallen.
tolt_referral (third-party, permanent — tot 60 dagen): Ingesteld door Tolt, onze leverancier voor affiliate-tracking, om de partner te registreren wiens verwijzingslink u naar Quocia heeft gebracht, zodat we hen kunnen crediteren en een eventuele bijbehorende verwijzingskorting kunnen toepassen. Behandeld als strikt noodzakelijk omdat, zonder deze cookie, ons affiliate-programma niet kan werken — een partner die u legitiem heeft doorverwezen, zou geen commissie ontvangen als de cookie geblokkeerd zou zijn. De cookie slaat alleen een korte verwijzings-identificatie op; er wordt geen gedragsprofiel over u opgebouwd. Zie Paragraaf 3.5 voor de wettelijke basis voor deze behandeling.

3.2 Functionele cookies

Deze cookies onthouden keuzes die veranderen hoe de Diensten er voor u uitzien of zich gedragen (bijvoorbeeld uw landvoorkeur zodra die functie is ingeschakeld, of de keuze dat u een in-app-melding heeft weggedrukt). Zonder deze cookies kunnen delen van de Diensten minder gebruiksvriendelijk zijn. U kunt deze cookies weigeren, maar dit kan de personalisatie die wij kunnen bieden verminderen.

3.3 Analytische cookies

Waar u toestemming heeft gegeven, kunnen we analytische cookies gebruiken om te begrijpen hoe de Diensten in hun totaliteit worden gebruikt — bijvoorbeeld welke functies populair zijn en waar gebruikers problemen ondervinden. De verzamelde informatie wordt gebruikt om de Diensten te verbeteren. Ten tijde van de laatste update van dit beleid waren er geen analytische third-party cookies actief op de website of de applicatie. Als we in de toekomst analysetools toevoegen (zoals Google Analytics of een privacyvriendelijke analyseprovider), zullen dit beleid en onze cookietoestemmingsbanner worden bijgewerkt, en zullen analytische cookies alleen worden ingesteld nadat u daar waar nodig toestemming voor heeft gegeven.

3.4 Marketing- en advertentiecookies

Marketingcookies worden gebruikt om advertenties te leveren die voor u relevant zijn en om de effectiviteit van marketingcampagnes te meten. Ten tijde van de laatste update van dit beleid waren er geen marketing- of advertentiecookies actief. Als we in de toekomst marketingcookies introduceren (bijvoorbeeld de Meta Pixel, Google Ads-tags of de LinkedIn Insight Tag), zullen dit beleid en onze cookietoestemmingsbanner worden bijgewerkt, en zullen deze cookies alleen worden ingesteld nadat u daar waar nodig toestemming voor heeft gegeven.

3.5 Verwijzings- en affiliate-cookies

Als u via een verwijzingslink van een van onze affiliate- of partnerprogramma's op onze website aankomt, plaatsen wij een cookie die de verwijzing registreert, zodat we de verwijzende partner kunnen crediteren en een eventuele bijbehorende korting kunnen toepassen.

Deze cookies worden behandeld als strikt noodzakelijk (en worden hierboven vermeld in Paragraaf 3.1) omdat ons affiliate-programma niet zonder hen kan functioneren: een partner die u legitiem heeft doorverwezen zou geen commissie ontvangen, en u zou geen bijbehorende korting ontvangen, als de cookie zou worden geblokkeerd. De wettelijke basis waarop wij ons baseren is de uitvoering van contractuele verplichtingen aan onze affiliate-partners en ons eigen gerechtvaardigd belang bij het exploiteren van het programma. Affiliate-cookies bouwen geen gedrags- of advertentieprofiel over u op; ze slaan alleen een korte verwijzings-identificatie op en het tijdstempel van uw verwijzing.

De cookie die voor dit doel wordt gebruikt is tolt_referral, ingesteld door Tolt; zie Paragraaf 3.1 voor cookiedetails.

4. Third-party cookies

Sommige pagina's of functies kunnen inhoud van derden laden (bijvoorbeeld een ingesloten video, een betalingsformulier van Stripe, of een aanmeldingswidget van een externe identiteitsprovider). Deze derde partijen kunnen hun eigen cookies op uw apparaat plaatsen, die onderworpen zijn aan hun eigen beleid. Wij hebben geen controle over deze cookies en raden u aan het privacy- en cookiebeleid van de betreffende aanbieders te raadplegen.

5. Andere trackingtechnologieën

Naast cookies kunnen we gebruikmaken van:

Local storage en session storage in uw browser, gebruikt door de applicatie om cache-instellingen, concepten en functiestatussen op te slaan voor betere prestaties;
Web beacons (tracking pixels) in sommige e-mails om te detecteren of de e-mail is geopend, waar u toestemming heeft gegeven voor het ontvangen van marketing-e-mails en niet anderszins heeft verzocht.

6. Hoe u uw cookiekeuzes kunt beheren

De eerste keer dat u de Diensten bezoekt, tonen wij een cookietoestemmingsbanner waarmee u alle cookies kunt accepteren, niet-essentiële cookies kunt weigeren, of een instellingenpaneel kunt openen om uw keuzes te verfijnen. 6.2 Browserinstellingen

6.3 Wat er gebeurt als u cookies uitschakelt

Als u alle cookies weigert, inclusief strikt noodzakelijke cookies, zullen delen van de Diensten niet functioneren. U zult zich niet kunnen aanmelden, uw taalvoorkeur zal niet behouden blijven tussen bezoeken, en we zullen uw keuzes voor cookietoestemming niet kunnen onthouden. Wij raden ten zeerste aan om strikt noodzakelijke cookies toe te staan.

7. Do-Not-Track en Global Privacy Control

Wij behandelen momenteel alle gebruikers consequent met de cookievoorkeuren die via onze toestemmingsbanner zijn ingesteld. Omdat er geen overeengekomen industriestandaard is voor het reageren op "Do-Not-Track"-signalen van browsers, reageren we daar niet afzonderlijk op. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information generally, and our Terms of Service.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to make them work more efficiently, and to provide information to the site's owners.

Cookies set by the site you are visiting (in this case, Quocia) are called first-party cookies. Cookies set by other domains — for example, an analytics or video-embed service — are called third-party cookies. Both types may persist for a defined duration ("persistent" cookies) or only until you close your browser ("session" cookies).

This policy uses the word "cookies" loosely to cover similar technologies, including local storage, session storage, web beacons, and tracking pixels.

3. Categories of Cookies We Use

3.1 Strictly necessary cookies

These cookies are required to operate the Services and cannot be switched off. They are usually set in response to actions you take, such as signing in, setting language preferences, or filling out forms. The Services cannot function properly without them.

lang (first-party, persistent — up to 1 year): Stores your preferred display language so we can show you the website and the application in the same language. Set on the .quocia.com domain so it works across the website and the app.
quocia_consent (first-party, persistent — up to 1 year): Records your choices in our cookie consent banner so we don't have to ask you again.
Authentication cookies (first-party, session and short-lived persistent): Keep you signed in to your account and protect against session hijacking. These are set by our authentication and hosting providers (Firebase Authentication, Firebase Hosting) and may include short-lived session tokens. They expire when you sign out or after a period of inactivity.
Security and load-balancing cookies (first-party, session): Set by Firebase Hosting and Google Cloud to route requests, keep the Services available, and protect against denial-of-service attacks.
tolt_referral (third-party, persistent — up to 60 days): Set by Tolt, our affiliate-tracking provider, to record the partner whose referral link brought you to Quocia, so they can be credited and any associated referral discount applied. Treated as strictly necessary because, without it, our affiliate programme cannot operate — a partner who legitimately referred you would receive no commission if the cookie were blocked. The cookie stores only a short referral identifier; no behavioural profile about you is built. See Section 3.5 for the legal basis for this treatment.

3.2 Functional cookies

These cookies remember choices that change how the Services look or behave for you (for example, your country preference once that feature is enabled, or whether you have dismissed an in-app notification). Without them, parts of the Services may be less convenient. You can decline these cookies, but doing so may reduce the personalisation we can offer.

3.3 Analytics cookies

We may use analytics cookies, where you have consented, to understand how the Services are used in aggregate — for example, which features are popular and where users encounter difficulty. The information collected is used to improve the Services. At the time this policy was last updated, no third-party analytics cookies were active on the website or the application. If we add analytics tooling in the future (such as Google Analytics or a privacy-friendly analytics provider), this policy and our cookie consent banner will be updated, and analytics cookies will only be set after you give consent where required.

3.4 Marketing and advertising cookies

Marketing cookies are used to deliver advertising that is relevant to you and to measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns. At the time this policy was last updated, no marketing or advertising cookies were active. If we introduce marketing cookies in the future (for example, the Meta Pixel, Google Ads tags, or LinkedIn Insight Tag), this policy and our cookie consent banner will be updated, and these cookies will only be set after you give consent where required.

3.5 Referral and affiliate cookies

If you arrive at our website via a referral link from one of our affiliate or partner programmes, we set a cookie that records the referral so we can credit the referring partner and apply any associated discount.

These cookies are treated as strictly necessary (and are listed in Section 3.1 above) because our affiliate programme cannot operate without them: a partner who legitimately referred you would receive no commission, and you would receive no associated discount, if the cookie were blocked. The legal basis we rely on is performance of contractual obligations to our affiliate partners and our own legitimate interest in operating the programme. Affiliate cookies do not build any behavioural or advertising profile about you; they store only a short referral identifier and the timestamp of your referral.

The cookie used for this purpose is tolt_referral, set by Tolt; see Section 3.1 for cookie details.

4. Third-Party Cookies

Some pages or features may load content from third parties (for example, an embedded video, a payment form from Stripe, or a sign-in widget from a third-party identity provider). Those third parties may set their own cookies on your device, governed by their own policies. We do not control these cookies and recommend that you review the privacy and cookies policies of the relevant providers.

5. Other Tracking Technologies

Beyond cookies, we may use:

Local and session storage in your browser, used by the application to cache settings, drafts, and feature state for performance;
Web beacons (tracking pixels) in some emails to detect whether the email was opened, where you have consented to receive marketing email and have not requested otherwise.

7. Do-Not-Track and Global Privacy Control

We currently treat all users consistently with the cookie preferences set through our consent banner. Because there is no agreed industry standard for responding to browser "Do-Not-Track" signals, we do not respond to them separately. If you have set Global Privacy Control (GPC) in your browser, we treat that as a request to opt out of any future "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising; as noted in our Privacy Policy, we do not currently engage in those activities.

We may update this Cookies Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or in applicable law.
